Introduction #
Billing Conditions allow you to control promotion eligibility using a customer’s billing address.
These conditions are useful when promotions should only be available to customers from specific locations.
Billing Conditions are commonly used for:
- Regional promotions
- Country-specific campaigns
- State-based offers
- Local marketing campaigns
- Tax and compliance requirements
- Customer segmentation
Billing Conditions evaluate the billing address entered during checkout.
How Billing Conditions Work #
When a customer enters billing information during checkout, Ezhance evaluates the billing address against the configured Billing Conditions.
If all Billing Conditions pass, the customer remains eligible for the promotion.
If a condition fails, the promotion does not apply.
Example:
Condition:
Billing Country = United States
Customer Billing Country:
United States
Result:
The condition passes.
If the customer selected Canada, the condition would fail.
Quick Example #
In this example, we will create a promotion available only to customers in California.
Promotion Type:

Best Practices #
Use Country Conditions For Broad Campaigns #
Country targeting is easier to manage than city or postcode targeting.
Combine Conditions Carefully #
Adding too many location requirements can significantly reduce eligibility.
Verify Address Data #
Billing Conditions rely on accurate customer address information.
Test Using Real Addresses #
Always test promotions using billing addresses that should qualify and addresses that should not.
Common Mistakes #
Confusing Billing And Shipping Addresses #
Billing Conditions evaluate billing information only.
Shipping addresses are evaluated separately.
Creating Overly Restrictive Rules #
Combining city, state, and postcode conditions may unintentionally exclude customers.
Testing Before Entering Billing Information #
Billing Conditions cannot be evaluated until billing details are available.
Using Billing Conditions For Delivery Promotions #
Shipping Conditions are usually more appropriate for delivery-related campaigns.
Troubleshooting #
If a promotion is not applying:
Check:
- Billing Country
- Billing State
- Billing City
- Billing Postcode
- Customer checkout information
Also verify that all other Eligibility Rules are passing.
